MEET THE MOTH: SPICY MARGARITA

SPICY MARGARITA’S HISTORY:
BEACH-SIDE BREAKTHROUGH
The Spicy Margarita is, in essence, a Mexico native, raised on the USA’s West Coast. Legend has it that it rose to fame in the 2000s as the “Picante de la Casa” in West Hollywood. Inspired by a cult concoction native to Soho House’s Miami Beach House. And so, the ‘Picante’ hype took over Soho Houses worldwide. That taste-tingle needs no translation.
COCKTAIL CURIOUSITIES
A LITTLE REBEL REBEL
And while it's been a long-time stateside starlet, London’s now fallen for Spicy Margarita’s zing too. It’s one of the most popular orders in the capital’s bars. Ours is smoky – not too hot. Just enough for a subtle sizzle on the lip. But there’s loads of twists, including cucumber juice, tequila, hot sauce – amongst the rest. It’s always lived by its own rules.
Fun fact: Capsaicin (the compound that gives peppers their heat) is said to boost metabolism and reduce inflammation. Healthy – and hot.
