Easter goes hard on happiness. It’s pastels as pastel as our French: 75 and yellows as yellow as our Piña Colada. It’s those weird and wonderful traditions you have with friends and family – be it egg rolling, hunting or painting, baking, feasting. You name it. It’s about being together.
This year we threw it back to our primary school competition days. Inspired by our MOTHs, we had a lot of fun with misc trimmings (yes, some results are more abstract than others and we love it).

What was your vision?
Jesus’s resurrection.
Tell us about the creative process
I started with the intricate creation of the central nest, the home of the small balloon man. The small balloon man is in fact Jesus himself, resurrecting. He is surrounded by all life on Earth.

What was your vision?
My vision was to recreate the glorious MOTH: Espresso Martini, crema and all, with a nice little Easter twist. I see myself garnishing up some Espresso Martini's with Mini Eggs this year, so I wanted to get ready!
Tell us about the creative process
My arts and crafts skills are unfortunately limited, so my creative process mainly revolved around ensuring it was easy. Haha. In addition, there's nothing better than a hat accessory, so the dangly eggs were perfect!

A solid 4.
Which MOTH made your fave bonnet?
Although I admire the madness of Rob & Ben with their eclectic efforts, I have to give my prize for best bonnet to Hannah for it's elegance and the tassles. An honourable mention for creativity to Sam, as it was top notch!

What was your vision?
I wanted to capture the zesty Margarita! Springy like a chick. But simple and classy.
Tell us about the creative process
I selected my materials first, with classic spring touches of daisies and ribbons. I might not be as expressive as some of the other bonnets in the group but it is well made and will stay in one piece if a spring gust arrives.

What was your vision?
I was channeling Negroni. Classic Italian Tradition mixed with surreal exuberance.
Tell us about the creative process
It was all about style and class, so firstly I thought about how to use the ribbons in a way that would be like a classic hat ribbon but more fun. Then I added the red egg on the top with a classic splat to channel the surrealism of the Italian artists like Maurizio Cattelan. Then a little next with a couple of chicks who just sum up Easter to me.

What was your vision?
I had no idea what bonnets were (I'm still unsure haha) so after a quick google search I figured out they're just crazy hats made by children.
Tell us about the creative process
The theme was green so I just grabbed all the green stuff and piled it on. There wasn't much of a creative process behind it.

What was your vision?
The Easter Spritz Chicken.
Tell us about the creative process
Well I first made a balloon chicken, then figured out that was almost impossible to attach to a bonnet. With some perseverance, some string and super glue, I managed to get it stuck on. I built a nest, and added in a few baby chicks.

Probably an 8. I lost a few points on the realism of the balloon chicken I think.
Which MOTH made your fave bonnet?
Rob’s hands down.

What was your vision?
I wanted a salted rim for my margarita hat. My first idea of sticking the ribbon the the hat failed, so I made work my second option of feathers. I leant into the green theme to represent limes.
