Combine two of the best drinks ever invented: Espresso Martini and Hot Chocolate for the perfect festive treat. Best enjoyed with friends and family. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkling of chocolate flakes

  3. Versatile - Use any chocolate you fancy: milk, dark, salted caramel, orange – the options are endless. Plus, make it vegan with the variations I’ve suggested below.

ESPRESSO MARTINI HOT CHOC

SWEET, WARM, RICH


You’ll need:

→ 150ml single cream - you could also use double cream for a thicker hot chocolate. If you’re wanting to veganise this recipe, feel free to use a plant-based single cream of your choice.

→ 200ml milk - I’ve used semi-skimmed but full fat works too. Once again, soy milk or oat milk are great plant-based alternatives to veganise.

→ 200g chocolate, finely sliced - If you’re a milk chocolate fan, then use a chocolate that is around 50% cocoa. If you’re a lover of dark chocolate, then 70% cocoa chocolate is perfect. Pick your favourite vegan chocolate to make it plant-based.

→ MOTH: Espresso Martini (125ml) - the star of the show: MOTH’s Espresso Martini. Use the whole can for this one. Use two if you want it stronger.

→ 50ml double cream, whipped - This is optional but I love to add a dollop of whipped cream on top for extra creaminess. For the vegan version, you can either buy pre-made whipped cream or make it from scratch with a plant-based whippable cream.

Serves 4

 

How To Make:

Step 1: Simmer milk and cream

  • Add your milk and cream to a saucepan and place it on low-medium heat.

Step 2: Add your chocolate

  • Slice your chocolate of choice into thin pieces.

  • Add to your saucepan and whisk until the chocolate has melted.

Step 3: Pour in MOTH: Espresso Martini

  • Shake your MOTH: Espresso Martini and pour it into your pan.

  • Stir and leave to simmer until your desired thickness.

Step 4: Make your whipped cream

  • Place your double cream into a bowl and use an electric whisk to whip until thick and silky.

Step 5: Serve up

  • Once your hot chocolate is ready, pour it into 4 mugs or glasses, top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with pieces of sliced chocolate. Enjoy.
